The Fish of Maui

Maui had magical powers and was much stronger then his four foster brothers; Roto, Mua, Pae and Taha.

Then one day, they planned to go out fishing, but they were to jealous to Maui go, and being the lazy bones they were they left the next day.

Early that morning, Maui hide in his brothers canoe, waiting for his time to pounce.  Roto, Mua, Pae and Taha paddled out to sea, and soon decided for their fishing spot.  At that Maui sprung out of hiding and told his brothers to paddle on, their fishing spot was not good enough for him.

The sun went down and the land was now way out of site, but still Maui paddled, his brothers fell asleep one by one.  In the morning, when his brothers woke, Maui  had finally settled for a spot to fish.  form anger, His brothers would not share their bait, so maul cut his own nose, smearing his blood on the jawbone hook, and tossed it out to sea, he caught giant stingray, yanking with all his might!

He told his brothers not to touch his perfectly smooth and flat fish, as he ran for his hook.  but his brothers were angry so they took their share, and they created the North Islands famous mountains!
